What is Back to Church Sunday?

On September 21, churches all across the city are coming together to help people rediscover the heart of the Church—community, faith, and hope. Whether you’ve been away for a while or never stepped into church before, this day is for you. The churches of Colorado Springs are coming together to say: you’re always welcome here. No shame. No pressure. Just a genuine invitation to experience the hope of Jesus.

And maybe you’ve never come to church…come and see what happens! Maybe you’ll find what you’ve been looking for all along.

What Can I Expect?

You can expect a warm welcome, a relaxed environment, and a meaningful experience.
Every church is unique, but all will share a message that connects Scripture to real life and offer opportunities to find genuine community—for you and your whole family. Come as you are—no pressure, no judgment, just a place to belong and find hope.

The Gospel. What the Church is All About.

The gospel isn’t advice or a call to self-improvement. It’s good news—earth-shaking, soul-awakening news that brings the dead to life.
God created the world in love and made us in His image to know Him, reflect Him, and live under His good rule. But we turned away, and our sin brought pain, death, and separation from God.
Still, God did not leave us. He came to us in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus—fully God and fully man—stepped into our broken world, lived the life we were created to live, and took the penalty we deserved, bearing our sin on the cross.
But unlike us, He wasn’t overcome. He rose again, breaking sin’s curse and offering hope, forgiveness, and a new way to be human to all who turn and trust in Him.
Jesus is alive! The invitation to life at its unimagined best is open. And His story of redemption is still unfolding through this new humanity called the Church.
