Back to Church Sunday is a nationwide movement harnessing this window of opportunity to help people reconnect with a local church and rediscover community and faith.
On September 21st, churches across Greater Charlotte will be coming together to welcome our neighbors Back to Church.
Facilitated by Outreach Inc., this campaign is completely free and open to churches of any size. Participating churches will receive:

- A free Back To Church Sunday digital kit with a planning guide and practical tools to help their members extend invitations in a personal, meaningful way.
- Free inclusion in Outreach’s coordinated social media campaign across the region connecting people reached through online engagement directly to local participating churches.
- Placement on the Greater Charlotte interactive church map so residents can easily find a church nearest them.
In addition, local participating churches will be joining the directory of nearly 2,000 churches participating in Back to Church Sunday nationwide!

What's required of my church to join?
Your church simply needs to register to participate, commit to providing a welcoming, gospel-centered service on Back to Church Sunday (September 21), and completing a short survey after the campaign is over.
Additional commitments are optional but will help your congregation get the most out of BTCS.
Here are more ways to leverage the momentum!
→ Display street & building banners the month leading up to September 21.
→ Follow our turn-key social media plan.
→ Follow the simple sermon outline (or customize it for a host/announcement slot) on September 21.
→ Equip your congregation with yard signs & personal invite cards to help them live on mission and spread the word across the city.
How are people directed to my church?
Each invitation directs people a UTM link to an interactive map, where they can find participating churches near them. They can filter by service times, programs, and more.
Your church will have a profile with key details: description, address, service times, website, etc., to help visitors plan their visit.
If you opt into Gloo’s free texting platform (which integrates with CCB and other platforms), visitors can text your church directly.
We also recommend street and building banners, invitation cards for congregants to extend personal invites, and following our ready-made social media posting schedule to reach your community.
Can denominational churches join?
Yes! The Back to Church Sunday campaign is open to all Bible-believing Christian churches, whether denominational or non-denominational. We value unity in the body of Christ as we work together to invite our city to church.

What's the cost to my church?
There’s no cost to join the campaign as a participating church! A generous donor has covered the entire cost of this year’s citywide campaign.
The only costs are voluntary if your church decides to purchase supplemental advertising materials.
My church is small, can we still join?
Absolutely! Small churches often see the most benefit from the campaign as our resources multiply your staff time and reach beyond what may be usually feasible.
