Millions Are Invited Back to Church on September 20, 2015

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Sept. 1, 2015 – National Back to Church Sunday® will be celebrated across the country on September 20, 2015. Now in its seventh year, this annual campaign empowers churches and their members with the tools they need to welcome their neighbors, friends and family back to church, while providing an easy way for everyone in the community to find a welcoming church.

There is still time to sign up on the national roster of participating churches at There is no cost to join the movement, and by signing up churches then appear on a national listing that helps people in their communities connect with them. The website also offers a host of church resources such as invitational videos to encourage people to take that sometimes intimidating step to invite someone, as well as letting people know they are welcome at church.

“One important thing we know is when church members are properly equipped to invite their friends, family, and neighbors to church, they are far more confident and effective in reaching out,” says Scott Evans, founder and CEO of Outreach, Inc., the nation's leading provider of church communications resources that helps support the Back to Church Sunday® movement. “And that’s what this is about! We want to help churches build bridges to their community where they can share The Gospel.”

Back to Church Sunday® is the largest annual community-based church outreach effort in the nation. Nearly 30,000 churches are expected to participate this year across over 120 Christian denominations.
